Recovering From Breast Augmentation Surgery

Breast augmentation is a significant surgery, and you will need to allow yourself time to heal and recover. During this time, it is essential that you follow the post-surgical instructions provided by our team, as these will minimize your risks of complications and help to ensure that you obtain the best esthetic result.

As you will have had a general anesthetic, you may need to stay overnight. If you are allowed home, you will need someone to drive you and stay with you for at least 24 hours. You should also expect to experience some discomfort. This is normal, and you will be prescribed painkillers to help you manage this until it subsides – something which usually takes a few days. It will be helpful for you to arrange to have someone help you with any physical tasks at home since you will need to avoid even moderate physical activities for at least 6-8 weeks.

Your breasts will be sore and swollen for several weeks, and as such, you probably won’t be able to see the final appearance of your new and enlarged breasts for a while after your surgery. However, within 6-8 weeks all of the swellings should have subsided, and you should be able to start enjoying your new shape.
